Signings

During the summer, Saints brought in attacking reinforcements in Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo, whilst a deadline day loan deal for Kevin Danso and the permanent signing of Danny Ings were also completed.

These deals cost around £52m, which is a fairly significant amount with the club needing to sell some players in order to raise extra transfer funds.

The captures of Adams and Danso were particularly pleasing considering that a striker and a centre-back would have been high on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s wishlist.

Despite the window being very good for signings overall, perhaps Saints fans would have liked – in an ideal world – to have seen Danso come in permanently straight away.
