Southampton: Rating Saints’ business in the summer transfer window

Loan departures

It was clear that Ralph Hasenhuttl wanted a big clearout of his squad during the summer and he got that in many ways.

However, he will be disappointed that many of the players he wanted to get rid of only left on temporary deals.

This list includes: Mario Lemina, Fraser Forster, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Guido Carrillo, Wesley Hoedt, Harrison Reed, Jake Hesketh, Josh Sims and Jack Rose.

Some of these deals have an option to buy at the end of them, but it is poor that the club are having to catch up after bad past transfers.
