Going into FIFA 19, The Great Dane, was Southampton’s highest rated player at an 80 overall and had some big expectations to help fill the holes in our backline. His Premier League career got off to a rocky start, with mistake filled performances, and he quickly found himself getting inconsistent play time.

Enter Ralph Hasenhuttl. Once the Austrian took over the team, Vestergaard got another chance to prove himself and had a nice resurgence in the second half of the season.

Thus far, excluding the Brighton match, the Danish International has been playing splendidly for the club and is making a case for himself to still be one of the highest rated players on the team. Don’t think his pace however will be getting a boost anytime soon though.
