James Beattie

Beattie will forever be a name mentioned among the most lethal strikers to have worn the Saints shirt and entertained the St Mary’s faithful for many seasons.

In seven years on the South Coast, he scored 70 times in 214 games and shared the Premier League’s golden boot with Thierry Henry in the 2002/03 season.

He also had two spells with Sheffield United and had an equally impressive goalscoring rate there too.

84 games in Yorkshire yielded 34 goals for the striker who also collected five caps for England.
