Southampton enter this fixture on Friday evening with good history on their side; having not lost a competitive home game to their south-coast counterparts AFC Bournemouth in six outings.

The last time the two of these teams met at St. Mary’s, they played a highly entertaining 3-3 draw which showed how both sides possessed great attacking flair whilst simultaneously lacked a solid defensive core to which to win the game on.

Looking onto the form of both south-coast clubs in which they share almost identical records, having won two games, lost two and drawn one and therefore sit 9th and 10th in the Premier League respectively.

What makes this statistic more humorous is that Southampton and Bournemouth also sit with a goal difference of minus one, the Saints having scored five and the Cherries eight; hence why they sit higher in the league.

With everything said, this game could have another goal-frenzy set on the cards; going into more detail about areas in which both teams could exploit and which players could make the difference on the night – lets move onto the first topic.
