Portsmouth 0-1 Saints, 1983/84 FA Cup

A typical cup-tie that was added to by the ferocious atmosphere that a local derby often provides.

Saints progressed past Pompey thanks to a winning goal from striker Steve Moran; eventually going on to reach the Semi-Final stage of the FA Cup.

A superb domestic campaign for Saints also saw them confirm their highest ever finish of second in the First Division, with Liverpool winning the league ahead of them by just three points.

Pompey had a below-par season in the Second Division and would finish seven points off relegation in 16th.
