Saints 3-0 Portsmouth, 2003/04 Premiership

Perhaps the most comprehensive Saints victory against their rivals since the turn of the millennium.

A comical opener came as Jason Dodd’s corner went straight in via defender Sebastien Schemmel on the post, and then a superb solo effort from Marian Pahars looked to have put the result beyond doubt.

With the three points in the bag, James Beattie rounded off the afternoon and added some gloss to the scoreline with a flying header at the near post.

Saints team: Antti Niemi, Jason Dodd, Claus Lundekvam, Michael Svensson, Danny Higginbotham, Paul Telfer, David Prutton, Chris Marsden (Chris Baird), Marian Pahars (Neil McCann), James Beattie, Brett Ormerod (Kevin Phillips)
