Southampton fell to a 2-1 defeat against Spurs on Saturday despite pushing hard for a draw in the second-half.
First-half goals from Tanguy N’Dombele and Harry Kane either side of a Danny Ings equaliser completed the scoring, but Saints failed to take real advantage of the fact that they were playing 10 men for an hour.
Serge Aurier was shown two yellow cards in the first period and this gave Saints space and time later in the game, but their play proved to slow to really worry the hosts.
With a tough upcoming schedule, this could really be a chance missed for Ralph Hasenhuttl and his side. They face Chelsea at St Mary’s next Sunday.
