Manager, Goalkeeper and Defenders
Ralph Hasenhuttl, Manager – 5
Positive points were that he gave Ings and Yoshida a start following their showings against Portsmouth in midweek, but he should have thrown Valery in once Cedric got injured in the warm-up.
Substitutions should have come much sooner too.
Angus Gunn, Goalkeeper – 5
Will feel that he could have done better with N’Dombele’s opener as the ball went through his hands and hit the centre of the net. Not much else to do, and a shame for him that his only real involvement was a match-defining one.
Jan Bednarek, Centre-Back – 7
Ended the day as a Right-Back and made a couple of important challenges to halt Spurs attacks at source. A game high of six tackles.
Maya Yoshida, Centre-Back – 6
Solid in his return to Premier League action. Strong showing in the air up against Kane.
Jannik Vestergaard, Centre-Back – 6
Saints fans feel that Valery should have been on the pitch instead of him.
