Southampton vs Leicester City: Five players who have played for both teams
By Marc Walker
David Connolly
Connolly spent a year with Leicester as the 2004/05 season saw him hit some real goalscoring form.
He netted 17 times during the campaign and then joined Wigan for over £2.7m the following summer – a profit of around £2m for the Foxes on the fee they paid for the Republic of Ireland international.
Saints picked him up as a free agent in 2009 and the move proved a real masterstroke.
Connolly scored some really important goals for the club in both League One and the Championship, with 17 goals in 66 appearances.
