Southampton vs Leicester: Prem League – Preview and Predictions
The Foxes come to St. Mary’s to take on Southampton Friday night in what is an important match for both teams as they look to pick up points.
For the visitors, this game represents a chance to further solidify their current spot inside the top 4 and for the Saints it would be a much needed win and a big confidence boost to come away with three points against a tough opponent.
The match will kick off the match week as it takes place on Friday night so let’s get to some preview and predictions.
How Southampton Will Win
The Saints took a small step forward in the Wolverhampton match last week and improved their play a bit. They are going to have to be better though to beat Leicester.
Quite frankly, they need to be a lot better attacking and not just creating chances but creating higher quality chances and finishing them. The goals have been hard to come by and the Saints will need to start scoring if they want to get out of the bottom half of the table anytime soon.
Defensively, just making sure they avoid that one big mistake that always seems to be the death of them. If they play a clean game and finish their chances they have a shot at winning this match.
How Leicester Will Win
Leicester have put together another very solid team with talented players who are looking to challenge the big dogs in the league this year. Currently third on the table, the foxes have only lost to Liverpool and Man United this season and will be thinking they should be able to take care of business at St. Mary’s.
As always, Jamie Vardy is a threat to score at any time and his pace will undoubtedly give out back line issues. If the Foxes can get their striker enough chances he will make the Saints pay.
If they put the Saints defense under pressure they could score more than a couple goals and walk away with three points.
