Richard Wright

Most recently seen helping Manchester City achieve their English player quota – mostly by sitting in the stands – Wright retired in 2016.

After proving himself at Ipswich Town and a short spell with Arsenal, he joined Everton in 2002 and stayed there for five years.

At Goodison Park, he had to contend with injuries and tough competition from Nigel Martyn and Tim Howard at various times.

Wright joined Saints on an initial emergency loan during the 2007/08 campaign (eventually extended to the end of the season) and played seven times on his temporary move from West Ham.
