Southampton really failed to play like a team at all on Saturday afternoon and lost a crucial Premier League game against Everton.

A second-half strike from Richarlison proved enough to give the Toffees all three points and give the visitors a real lift, whilst Saints stayed with that sinking feeling.

Ahead of the game, Saints knew that they had a chance to get some points on the board against the team with the joint-worst away record in the top-flight.

However, a hopeless first-half display from the hosts saw no players taking it upon themselves to try and change the situation that they are in.

Perhaps the international break will come at the best time for Saints as they’ll need to respond as quick as possible when the next game comes around in two weeks time.
