Saints 2-0 Watford, 1999/2000 Premiership

Saints comfortably avoided relegation in this season and this win saw them reach the all important 40 point mark.

An eventual 15th place finish saw them 11 points above Wimbledon in 18th, who Saints beat on the final day of the campaign.

Here though, Kevin Davies opened the scoring in the fourth minute to give his side a lead that they held until the 75th minute.

It was then left to the ‘little Latvian’ Marian Pahars to make it 2-0 and confirm a comfortable win with 15 minutes remaining.

Saints team: Neil Moss, Dean Richards, Tahar El Khalej, Wayne Bridge, Chris Marsden, Matt Le Tissier, Stuart Ripley, Kevin Davies, James Beattie (Marian Pahars), Jo Tessem (Matt Oakley)
