A Sebastien Haller goal hands West Ham all three points and caps an underwhelming Southampton performance.

Following two crucial home victories over fellow strugglers Norwich and Watford Saints would have been confident of making it a hat trick. In a shock to precisely no SFC fans, it didn’t work out that way.

Instead, they looked second best in the first half and were behind just after half an hour. The strike from Sebastien Halle ultimately proved to be the difference maker, but Manuel Pellegrini will feel disappointed that his charges weren’t two or three up before the break.

The Hampshire outfit rallied in the second 45 and spurned glorious chances to take a share of the points.
