Strikers and Substitutes

Shane Long, Striker – 7

Got Saints’ second of the afternoon by meeting a perfect cross from Cedric and flicking a header inside the far post. Hit the post in the second period too.

Also won endless duels against his markers throughout the afternoon but unfortunately not much fell to others around him

Danny Ings, Striker – 5

Not in the game as much as Saints needed him to be, but he’s perhaps allowed some off days given his impact already this season.

Che Adams, 1st Substitute – 5

Not a great impact off the bench but will surely be given more game time with a game on Tuesday.

Sofiane Boufal, 2nd Substitute – 4

Not direct enough and chose to try and beat players twice instead of going straight for the goal.

Moussa Djenepo, 3rd Substitute – 5

No real time on the ball to make an impact, but will be given minutes in the next week like others.
