Southampton moved up to ninth in the Premier League table after a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Nathan Redmond and Stuart Armstrong – both superb strikes – saw the three points claimed at Selhurst Park and saw Saints cut the gap to fifth place to just three points.

Impressively, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have now taken 16 points from the last 21 on offer and have won their last four away games.

Considering that they were 18th only seven games ago, the turnaround has been remarkable and European qualification now looks more likely than relegation this campaign.

This latest win also came with Danny Ings rested and on the bench and Jan Bednarek ruled out through injury – Michael Obafemi and Jannik Vestergaard slipping into the team with seemingly little trouble.
