Southampton: Saints linked to two Championship players
With the recent form Southampton have found themselves in buying players is no longer a necessity but that does not mean they will not splash some cash.
Two new reports have linked the South Coast club with a pair of Championship players, who have impressed for their clubs so far this season.
The first report is from Sky Sports and it has Nottingham Forest defender, Matty Cash, linked with a potential move to the club.
The 22-year-old has impressed at Right-back for the Championship side. Southampton will face competition from several other clubs for the youngster’s signature including AC Milan.
Cash, is a Forest academy product and would be a good fit for the Saints I believe. He a natural Right-sided midfielder so he will be good going forward and he possess good pace in order to get back on defense.
Additionally, he will likely be a relatively cheap purchase that the club could easily afford. I think this would be a good investment and the club would be silly for not at least attempting a bid.
The second player the club is linked with, from Football Insider, is an attacker. Bright Osayi-Samuel, is a 22-year-old Nigerian winger for QPR and has been showing his talent recently.
He has 3 goals in his last 4 matches and is proving he is ready for the step-up into the Premier League. His contract is expiring in the summer so the Saints could take him off QPR’s hands for a discounted price.
He possess loads of pace and is exactly the type of player Hasenhuttl wants for his system. He will likely not cost very much and I think this is another move the Saints should make.
