Yan Valery

Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that Valery had returned to training at the beginning of this week and this couldn’t have come at a better time.

He will be the only Right-Back available for Saints at Anfield tomorrow after Cedric left the club on transfer deadline day – Kyle Walker-Peters is not ready to start yet according to Hasenhuttl.

Valery hasn’t played since late November after a viral infection so will have to be clear of his role within the side – especially when up against Liverpool’s attack.

The Frenchman impressed last season when playing as a Wing-Back but will still need to convince his manager that he can play as a Full-Back and defend one-on-one.
