Southampton: Looking back at Saints’ last five FA Cup replays

Southampton travel to North London on Wednesday to face Spurs in their FA Cup replay.

A 1-1 draw was played out at St Mary’s 10 days ago as Son Hueng-Min’s strike for the visitors was cancelled out by Sofiane Boufal late on – a draw being a fair reflection of a good contest.

Both Ralph Hasenhuttl and Jose Mourinho have bemoaned the fact that this replay will be played during what was supposed to be the Premier League’s first winter break, but both will still want to win.

It remains to be seen whether there will be many changes for both teams given that the winter period provided a tough schedule for both clubs – winning sets up a home tie against Norwich City in the week commencing the 2nd March.

Saints have had varied results in cup replays in the past, but will fancy their chances of getting through this one.
