Southampton were dumped out of the FA Cup at the Fourth-Round stage on Wednesday after a 3-2 loss to Spurs.

Saints looked to be in control and worked their way into a 2-1 lead in the second-half after Danny Ings found the net.

However, their advantage should have been much bigger and they ultimately paid the price when Spurs completed a quick and late turnaround thanks to Son Hueng-Min’s penalty.

Performances continue to be very promising for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side and enjoyable for Saints fans to watch, but they will need to find a way of getting what they deserve in matches after the winter break.

Upcoming games look like they could see Saints cross the famous 40 point mark if they continue to play this well and then punish their opponents fully.
