Southampton vs Aston Villa

When these two teams met a few months ago it was a relegation six pointer that had helped launch Southampton out of the bottom three. Now, both teams find themselves out of the relegation zone and want to keep it that way. As of today, Villa hang onto 17th by a single point over both West Ham and Watford.

Only 2 teams have conceded more goals than the Saints this year in the Premier League and one of those are Aston Villa. Southampton, will need to take advantage of that fact and put in 2 or more goals because Villa have not been held scoreless since the 28th of December.

The first match between these two saw the Saints win comfortably 3-1 on the road and if they can go into this match with their confidence high in front of the home supporters I see no reason for history not to repeat itself.

Predicted Score

Southampton 2-1 Aston Villa

Goal scorers: Stuart Armstrong, James Ward-Prowse
