Chris Baird

Baird came through the Saints academy system and played 86 minutes of the 2003 FA Cup final against Arsenal – a main career highlight for the Northern Ireland international.

In all, he made 78 appearances whilst on the South Coast but left for around £4m to Fulham with Saints down in the Championship.

He had great success with the Cottagers but became a free agent in 2014 after half a season with Reading and was duly snapped up by Burnley.

However, he only played seven times for the Clarets and left for West Brom just four months later.
