Strikers and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 7

First contribution for the striker was on the defensive end, allowing a Burley corner kick to sneak through to the near post, giving up an early lead.  Then in the 19th minute, delivered a special strike to level the match.  Second half he was pressed out of the game and his first touch suffered as a result.  Still, the man cannot stop scoring.

Shane Long, Striker – 5

These are the types of conditions one would think Shane Long would turn it up a notch.  Not much came off today outside of a couple headers won for his striking partner.

Moussa Djenepo, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 5

Entered the game for an injured Boufal.  Did not make near the impact of his predecessor.  Got a few crosses into the box, but did not take on defenders like the Moroccan.  With Redmond and Boufal injured, he is the man, and we will expect more.

Michael Obafemi, Substitute Striker – 5

Other than throwing an elbow and grabbing a yellow, it is hard to find a contribution in a match when one was needed.  Had a few chances to turn to goal, but went outside.  Still preferred to Che Adams in what seems to be a constant battle for first striker off the bench.

Che Adams, Substitute Striker – N/A

Made his usual late cameo with not a lot of time and a park-the-bus Burnley back line.  Cannot give him a rating for 8 minutes of football.
