Welcome to the Fray

The January transfer intake wasn’t exactly numerous, but Saints officials did at least move to make one important signing. With the departure of Cedric to Arsenal the Saints had a full-back position to fill.

Southampton’s clash with the folks from Turf More saw the youngster make his first start in new colours. The 22-year-old’s debut went without major incident but failed to make a significant impact on the game.

Walker-Peters was substituted 17 minutes from time as the home side looked to rescue the tie. Quoted by the Southern Daily Echo, the managers said of the appearance:

“It’s clear to see he [Kyle] still needs time to adapt to our game, which is not easy and will take time”.

Welcome to Southampton Kyle Walker-Peters.
