Stuart Armstrong

Armstrong was the beneficiary of an open netter at the end of the match but it was really his tireless work all match long that gets him a shout in this article. Ever since coming back into the Starting XI he really has been a key cog in the Saints season.

On Saturday he managed to get off 7 shots, more than Villa had as a team, and also created 5 chances in the match. It was a fantastic match by the Scot and was topped off with a goal at the death.

He just gets things done and whenever the club needs a player to step-up and make something happen it seems like Stu is always there. Whether it’s a run that beats two defenders to create a chance or chasing down a 50 yard pass to score a goal with no keeper he’s the man for the job.
