Calamity James

James Ward Prowse has established himself as a steady head in a fragile Southampton side. Unfortunately, an uncharacteristically ill-judged ball upfield lead to the first breach of the afternoon.

A West Ham man soon stepped in to retrieve possession and quickly find Pablo Fornals . Fornals picks out an excellent pass to January signing Jarrod Bowen. The former Hull makes his run in between Jack Stephens and Jan Bednarek, before Cooley finishing on the angle.

While the strike was of high quality, it could’ve been avoided with a little bit of due care and attention from JWP.

The sloppy concession meant that Southampton were needlessly chasing a game that was there for the taking. West Ham are in relegation trouble, but there focus and vision ultimately proved the difference maker in the match.
