Southampton are linked to yet another defender. This time, it is Jake Cooper who is a 25-year-old defender in the Championship.

The Centre-Back has made 40 appearances in all competitions for his club and has proven to be a consistent performing that looks ready to make the jump up to the next level.

Millwall, would prefer not to lose the central defender this summer but it is looking less and less likely they will be able to hold onto him over the summer.

Southampton, have conceded an astounding 52 goals this season in only 29 matches and Hasenhuttl is starting to get desperate for defensive replacements. Recently, Jack Stephens and Jan Bednarek have been doing better in recent weeks but the defense is still not at the level the boss would like.

Cooper, appears built for the physicality of the Premier League. He will likely not break the bank either if the Saints do decide to pursue him in the summer.

Southampton, will likely be selling Vestergaard this summer and will probably replace him with 1 or 2 guys depending on their cost. I suspect Ralph would prefer two younger guys that he can develop and teach his system too over an older more established player who would cost the club more money to bring in.

With the season currently suspended the front office and Hasenhuttl could use this time to really narrow down who they want to go after in the transfer market and make smart, carefully calculated decisions.
