Southampton: Wesley Hoedt offered by agents to Bologna this summer

The defender has been out on loan from Southampton for the majority of the past two seasons and is now looking to make a permanent move away.

His agent has been looking for deals for the defender to make his move away from St. Mary’s. Both sides are looking to get a deal done and move on. For Hoedt, he would like to make a return to a top 5 league in Italy and for Saints they will get some money back and also get his wages off the books.

His time at Southampton was tumultuous, highlighted by head scratching errors that left supports questioning why Mark Hughes had him in the team each and every week. His relationship with the club soured when Hasenhuttl came in and he could barely get on the pitch anymore.

After his time at Saints was over, he spent the season on loan at Celta Vigo in the Spanish league and then at Royal Antwerp in the Dutch league.

Hopefully, with this much time off from football, his agents have more time on their hands to find him a landing spot and get him off the books of Southampton. The Saints have been plagued with bad deals lately and a number of expensive players out on loan. It is well past time to get them away from the club and to start to move on and rebuild.

Ralph needs money to build the team he wants and the only way he is going to get it is form the sale of the players out on loan.
