Southampton: Ranking Matt Le Tissier’s top five Premier League goals

Sadly the footballing genius that Matt Le Tissier brought to the Premier League is not on show for Southampton these days.

The Saints and top-flight legend retired back in 2002 but left fans on the South Coast with a whole host of memories after stunning goals and brilliant performances.

He can now be seen on your television screens as a pundit on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday and as a Club Ambassador with Saints, where he will forever be regarded as one of the greatest to pull on the red and white stripes.

In this article, I will attempt to rank his best five goals – which is clearly easier said than done.

Just a look at one of his highlights videos throws a number of special moments into the mix, and he did of course score some great goals before the Premier League came along in 1992.

Here are the top five that I chose (and yes, they could have been in any order):
