24 years ago on Monday, Southampton claimed one of their most famous victories in the Premier League.

A 3-1 win for the Saints over Manchester United was perhaps already a surprise, but the game also saw an infamous moment play out.

Having gone in at half time 3-0 down, United ditched their grey away strip for another and blamed their poor display on their players not being able to pick each other out from the crowd in the Dell.

Nothing much changed in the second period for Alex Ferguson’s side though, and Saints eventually strolled home to a victory despite a late strike from Ryan Giggs.
