The Norwegian’s season for Celtic is likely done and although he will be upset to leave the Scottish side he wants to show Southampton what he has got.

It has been well documented the winger’s career at Southampton did not get off to a great start. There were somewhat big expectations for Elyounoussi who was coming from Basel with Champions League experience.

Not every players time with a new club gets off to a flying start but his never seemed to start. He was then loaned out to Celtic in the Scottish League where he found success and a rejuvenation.

In his short time at the club he scored 7 goals for the club while also collecting an assist. He showed a glimmer of the player we were hoping to get and now that he may be coming back to Southampton earlier than he was planning he is ready to show he can play in the Premier League.

“I want to show a better side of myself than what I have done,” the player was quoted. He continued to say, “I hope I can go back and fight for a place next season.”

If he is willing to fight for his spot on the team I am all for it. Competition amongst the team can bring out the best of everyone and help and make everyone better. He will have to take on the likes of Redmond, Armstrong, and Boufal if he wants to crack the starting lineup but even if he does not do that but shows improvement it would be a welcomed addition back to the squad.
