Southampton need defense and could look to sign Walker-Peters permanently and are also interested in Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid.

Saint supporters are use to the rumours now. It seems like every other day Southampton are linked with a new defender they could potentially sign in the summer. A new SkySports report can be added to the list of news about potential defenders.

First, Kyle Walker-Peters is still in the mix to be signed permanently this summer as the Right-back for the club. He obviously had little time to prove himself in a Saints shirt but he obviously impressed the club enough to bring him in on loan in the first place.

Second, the club is linked with Mohammed Salisu who they were interested in back in January. Salisu, is a 21-year-old central defender who is tall and strong. He has the build to be a Premier League defender and also the skill.

Outside of obviously going for defenders it is clear Ralph wants youth as well. Nearly all of the defenders they have been linked to have been under the age of 24 which Hasenhuttl has set as the upper limit fro age of player he wants.

This summer transfer window cannot come quick enough. I know I am excited to see what Ralph can get done and how he can improve the team and take them to the next level. If the season does not resume we may see a whole new squad the next time we see them take the pitch.
