The Scottish international was just finding his groove when the season came to a halt but it could be signs of things to come.

Armstrong, had been playing out wide for Southampton. A position he was not comfortable with at first but then he figured it out and started being a key player for the squad.

He managed to score 3 goals in the Premier League this season, matching his total from the year prior with 8 less appearances. He became Nathan Redmond’s counterpart and really helped the team improve.

His movement off the ball helped create goals for his teammates and his willingness to shoot from distance made him a threat whenever he got the ball in the final third. He quickly became a fan favorite this season and supporters wanted to see what he could get accomplished.

He was not just having a solid season for the Saints but also for the Scotland national team. The 28-year-old seems to be putting it all together at the moment and is a real shame the season was put on hold for the moment.

He is a great player for the younger players to look up to and learn from. His ability to find space in the defense and create for himself and his teammates only benefits the team. Players like Moussa Djenepo can look up to and learn how to hone their craft.
