Southampton: Three vital Saints wins in history on 28th April

The postponement of the 2019/20 Premier League season has provided a lot of time for Southampton fans to look back at their favourite memories from following the club.

Whilst the last three years have seen the club scrapping it out at the bottom of the top-flight table, there were plenty of moments to cherish before that.

Successive promotions to the Premier League and wins galore were followed by four finishes of eighth, seventh, sixth and eighth from 2014 to 2017, with participation in the Europa League being the pinnacle.

One trend that has been big recently is looking back on big results and matches ‘on this day’, and this is what we are going to do in this article.
