Saints 2-1 Bournemouth, 28th April 2018, Premier League

Saints took a huge step towards confirming their Premier League survival in the 2017/18 season with this narrow but deserved win over Bournemouth.

A clinical double from Dusan Tadic overcame Josh King’s equaliser from the visitors and ensured that the club could look towards their final three fixtures of the campaign to secure their top-flight status.

Their crucial win was also partly due to a excellent performance from Alex McCarthy in goal, with his flying save from Ryan Fraser’s deflected strike being the highlight of his display.

Saints team: Alex McCarthy, Cedric Soares, Jan Bednarek, Maya Yoshida, Wesley Hoedt, Ryan Bertrand, Oriol Romeu, Mario Lemina, Dusan Tadic (James Ward-Prowse), Nathan Redmond (Shane Long), Charlie Austin (Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg)
