Redmond was pegged by many to have a big season for Southampton but got off to a slow and inconsistent start but found his groove later on.

The Southampton man only scored 3 goals this season and collected 1 assist which he would consider disappointing seeing that many saw him scoring close to double digits this season. The season prior he scored 6 and had 4 assists albeit in more games than he played this season.

The 26-year-old seems to be thriving in Hasenhuttl’s system and will be ready to start playing football again to not only prove to us but also himself that he can be the player we know he can be. To be fair, the whole team got off to a slow start this season and then he got hit with an injury that sidelined him for a month.

Despite his lack of goal scoring production, he is key to Southampton’s attack. With his ability to beat defenders on the ball and create space he opens up the field for his teammates to get in behind and get off shots in and around the box.

If we do not have any more football this season I truly look forward to seeing Redmond put it all together next season. He will have another offseason to learn the system and improve and I think the best of Nathan Redmond is yet to come.
