Southampton fans have not seen their team in action for over two months now after the Coronavirus postponed the 2019/20 season.

However, Saints fans will have joined the world of football world in rejoicing as they heard the news that the German Bundesliga will be making a return this weekend.

In these times, the safety of everyone involved in the game is quite rightly most important. Domestic campaigns around Europe will only continue if cases amongst players disappear and there isn’t another spike in infection.

After an unusual time in isolation though, the return of ‘the beautiful game’ will go some way to providing a bit of normality once again.
