Southampton: Club reportedly in talks for defender Deyovaisio Zeefuik
Southampton are now linked and in talks with yet another defender and this time it is with Groningen defender Deyovaisio Zeefuik.
The 22-year-old defender is currently playing in the Dutch league and has had a solid season for Groningen playing in 26 matches and even collecting two Man of the Match awards.
He plays right-back, so add another name to the ever-growing list of potential right-backs for the
Saints. He really is an all-around player who is capable of doing it all at the right-back position. He is capable of going forward with the ball but also a solid defender.
He is likely only to cost around £6m which would not break the bank by any means. He is certainly one of the cheaper options out that are available for the Saints but I think they need to sell some players before they decide to bring in anyone else.
It is clear the owner really wants nothing to do with the club anymore so the team will need to figure out how to generate their own transfer budget for the time being and that will have to come from the sale of out-of-favor players.
I believe at the end of the day Kyle Walker-Peters will be the right-back for the Saints next season. He is already here and we can use Hojbjerg as a piece in his transfer. Soon, football can return and we can focus on the Saints play and not just transfer rumors. I know I cannot wait to see them play again.
