Several clubs are interested in the dynamic fullback and Southampton would have to pay around £3-4m if they want to bring him in.

In a new report from a Dutch paper, FC Groningen, expect to receive only around £3-4m for the player and I think it would be unwise for the club to pass up on this player if they believe he is Premier League quality.

There are a number of clubs who are after the player and it will likely be the club who offers the Dutch side the proper amount of money first will get the man. The transfer window does not open up for still some time but now is the time to pick our targets and get our men.

It has seemed in recent years, Saints have waited and waited to do their business and always training to get someone for cheap.

That strategy has largely backfired and it is time to start spending just a little bit more money and acting a little bit more quickly so the players we want are not all gone by the time we are ready to spend some money.

Next. Saints standing firm on huge Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg valuation. dark

The club will be buying a defender or two (maybe even three) this summer so they need to make sure they get the players they want and who they believe can make an impact the second the step foot on the grounds.

Less than 10 days now until we get to see Southampton back in action and that will truly tell us where we stand and where we need to improve.
