Southampton make the trip to Carrow Road at 6pm this evening (UK time) to restart their 2019/20 season against Norwich City.

It remains to be seen what sort of game will play out given that all the players involved have not played in a competitive game for three months, but both teams will be keen to secure a vital three points to get back underway.

Playing in front of an empty stadium will certainly be strange for the players, and fans watching back home will be wondering when they will be allowed back inside a football ground again.

The meeting of Aston Villa and Sheffield United and then the later fixture between Manchester City and Arsenal gave a taste of what to expect, but the latter also highlighted the increased chance of sustaining injuries after so little preparation.

Ahead of Saints’ return to action though, fans will be wondering which players could prove to be the match-winners for them or Norwich.
