Southampton started the match out slowly but came alive in the second half to secure three points and move ever further from the relegation zone.

This match was really a tale of two halves as Southampton started the match having to defend against an attacking Norwich side and then flipped the match and really dominated in the third scoring all three of their goals.

The Hasenhuttl press was in full-effect and the shots were pouring in as the club wracked up 22 shots against the Canaries.

The Saints, now on 37 points, will be able to look back on this match and take a number of things away from it. Let us take a look at the three key takeaways from this match.

Stu is Scoring

We always now what we are going to get from Danny Ings but it was a bit concerning how dependent the club became on the striker. At one point he had 50% of the teams goals in the Premier League and the team really needed to find other options.

That is where Stuart Armstrong comes in. He is now showing a finishing ability that will give teams a lot to think about. Knowing that they can not singularly focus on shutting down Ings, Armstrong (as well as Redmond) has started scoring more consistently and that takes the pressure off of the striker.

If he can continue to find the back of the net this season we are going to start winning a lot of matches and start really moving up the table. Armstrong, has really developed as a player under Hasenhuttl and the fans have quickly fallen in love with the player.
