The Saints are Staying Up

It has been a long season that started out a little rocky but when that final whistle blew yesterday, the Saints were mathematically safe and will officially spend another season in the English Premier League.

Many fans (including myself) at the start of the season believed relegation would not even be in the picture but after a slow start we found ourselves at the bottom and looking bad. Then something changed. The team started winning matches and looking miles better. Since November, the Saints have picked up the 5th most points in the league and have picked up wins against Chelsea, Tottenham, and now City.

Hasenhuttl, will want to collect as many points as possible this season but we may start seeing some youngsters and other players get chances in matches they would not have gotten if we were in another relegation scrap. It is time to finish this season strong while preparing for the next one.

I think we could see this team take a big step forward and developing a deeper bench and getting Premier League experience for more players will be key. I look forward to the final 5 matches and what they can do.
