Southampton are coming off a famous victory against Manchester City and can now start climbing the table with a win against Everton, Thursday.

The two sides are currently separated by a single point on the table and both sides will go into this match with a lot to play for. Southampton, will still want to collect as many points as they can and carry the momentum they build at the end of this season into the start of the next.

The Saints have struggled at Goodison Park as of late and will look to turn their fortunes around when they kick off tomorrow evening.

Let us see how both teams could win.

How Everton Will Win

The Toffees are a scrappy team who are solid defensively and boast some goal scoring talent up top in their strikers. On their day, they can absolutely beat anyone in this league but they seem to be a bit inconsistent when it comes to their performances.

You never really know which Everton side is going to show up but if history is any indication they will play well against the Saints in their home stadium. Richarlison will be a major threat up top and the two wing-backs are also great talents.

Lucas Digne, will be one to watch out for. He is a tremendous talent and if he is able to get forward with the ball he will cause trouble for the Saints defense. If they want to win they will need to break the Southampton press and some quick passes and smart runs from the left and right-backs will be the key to that.

How Southampton Will Win

We all know the Saints have been enjoying their away days this season and this is a prime opportunity for them to collect another 3 points. Everton are no Man City so the Saints will see much more of the ball this match and be able to create more opportunities to score goals.

I think we will see a line-up similar to the one Ralph has been marching out since the restart and this will give Ings a chance to get back into the golden boot race. If the Saints are able to deploy their press and create turnovers in the Everton half they will have a boatload of goal scoring chances.

The key to the match for the Saints will be the wide players for me. If they are able to get past a defender and into space they will be able to charge at net and either take a decent shot themselves or find a lurking striker for a clean shot. Redmond could be in for a monster day.
