To Buy or Not To Buy – Kyle Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters delivered another top-notch performance as the favored right wing-back in the Southampton system.  The answer to the title’s question, to buy or not to buy, it would be hard pressed to find a Saints fan who does not want this man in the locker room next season.  He is clearly out-performing Yan Valery in the moment and it would be surprising to not seem him in the starting eleven for the rest of the campaign.

Today’s performance was a masterclass of defending and attacking.  He battled a talented Lucas Digne tit for tat and showed some real flashes of talent on the ball.  Walker-Peters had not quite shown his 1v1 ability until today, but he put it on full display carving up Everton defenders.  The Tottenham loanee may have also saved the game with a a great block on Digne after reading a pass into his penalty area which is more instinct than opportunity.  Walker-Peters has now put in three expert displays of intelligence and skill and it would be an understatement to say Southampton fans would not understand the pursuit of this player for 2020-2021.
