Saints Down but Not out

Despite looking distinctly ordinary for about 87 minutes of action, Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side did at least manage three minutes of scintillating play.

The Manchester equalizer materializes as Pogba manages an accurate cross into the box for Martial. With Jack Stephens for company it appears that the attacker still has plenty of work to do.

The number nine holds off his man and while falling finds an excellent pass out to the oncoming Rashford. The Englishman makes no mistake and lashes it into the back of the net.

Just a few minutes later, it was the provider’s time to turn scorer.
The setup for the second goal was all too straightforward for the Champions League contenders. The fifth placed side worked from back to front almost effortlessly. SFC could barely get close to the ball let alone challenge for it.

The Frenchman takes control before blowing straight past a helpless Kyle Walker peters. The on-form marksman finishes the move in style, by blasting his shot into the roof of the net.

Saints received a brief glimpse of the imperious Manchester United of old. Fortunately, they’re not so special anymore.
