The Late Late Show Starring Michael Obafemi

Despite, being hit with two swift hammer blows the Hampshire side didn’t yield, but instead reasserted their presence within the game.
As a result of a lengthy injury stoppage the match was allowed to spill into the 96 minute of injury time. Still pushing for parity Southampton forced the concession of a corner and brought the bodies forward.

In trademark fashion captain Prowse raises his arm before delivering a devastating ball into the mixer. The cross appears to evade almost everyone as it avoids the myriad of heads and dips towards the back post.
Brought on as a late substitute, Michael Obafemi sprang into action. The Striker throws himself at the football and practically nudges it into the back of the net.
Not the prettiest goal of his Southampton career, but as the expression says they all count.
It may not mean a whole lot for the league standings, but it’s a point Southampton richly deserved, and which holds promising signs for the future.
