Southampton managed to grab a point at the death against a tough United side and showed how far they have come since the start of the season.

It was a thrilling match at Old Trafford as the Saints took an early lead only to see two quick-fire strikes from United to see them in front. And when it looked like the home side were going to take all three points, Southampton struck in the 96th and steal a point right out from under the Red Devils.

It is unbelievable to think the team that was sitting 19th in November is now taking points from both Manchester teams in a matter of weeks. Let us take a look at some takeaways from this most recent match.

His hair is fine and his game isn’t bad either

Stuart Armstrong, has been a major factor in the Saint’s success in the second half of the season and he only seems to be getting better. He was the beneficiary of Ings’ hard work and scored himself another goal but his own hard work and ability has the team thriving.

On Monday, Armstrong had two shots and both were on target and he was really a catalyst in attack for the Saints all evening. He now has 5 goals and 2 assists in the Premier League this year and really has found his stride in the 4-2-2-2.

Traditionally, a central midfielder, Ralph has asked Stu to make the adjustment to the wing. It took some time (as did the whole team adjusting to the system) but he know seems to understand it and really embracing the new role.

I am truly looking forward to what he can do next season.
