Callum Wilson

The English striker likes playing against Southampton and has registered 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 2 games against Saints (source: BBC Sport). This has not been the season that Wilson would have hoped for, with just 8 goals to date (source: transfermarkt) but there is every chance that he will add to that total on Sunday afternoon.

If he is to add to his 4 caps for England, Wilson will need to be more clinical in front of goal and it would not surprise onlookers if he seeks opportunities elsewhere, regardless of whether the Cherries avoid the drop. Nevertheless, Danny Ings has shown that it is possible to score prolifically outside of the top 10 teams and Wilson will be looking to profit from the occasionally hesitant Southampton back four.

Whilst the Saints defence has looked more assured and settled in recent weeks, they are still culpable of lazy back passes or trying to play their way of out trouble. Wilson will be desperate to capitalise on any errors and buy his beleaguered side some invaluable points.
