Bournemouth vs Southampton: Premier League – Opposition threats
David Brooks
The young Welsh international has been a bright spark for Bournemouth since returning from injury. His goal against the Citizens earlier in the week caused Guardiola’s men a nervy few minutes as Bournemouth showed a spine which has been conspicuous by its absence this season.
At just 23 years old, Brooks looks likely to have a successful career in top flight and the Cherries will be fearful that he will be poached this summer. A nominee for PFA young player of the year in 18/19, he is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and had he not been absent most of this campaign, Bournemouth might have had a different season.
Good at finding little pockets of space in-field or on the wing, it will be interesting to see whether Southampton deploy hard tackling Oriol Romeu to limit his influence. Either way, Saints will be wary of his ability to change games with a moment of magic and cannot allow him any space.
